Project "Introduction of municipal schemes for separate collection and recycling of waste in the territory of the Municipality of Smolyan and the Municipality of Banite"
The overall goal of the project is to improve the management of waste at the municipal level and its use as a resource, by implementing schemes for the separate collection and recycling of waste, applying the principles of the circular economy and using know-how from the Norwegian partners Kristiansand municipality (Norway).
The results of the project will be reported with the assistance of the residents of Smolyan and Banite municipalities, through an interactive map, on which they can mark the discarded waste in the containers delivered within the project.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT DATA AND CONTAINER LOCATION MAP
The project is focused on the following types of waste:
Organic waste
Separate collection and composting of organic waste in 200 households.Separate collection
Collection of paper, plastic, metal and glass packaging in special containers.Old tires
Reduction of landfilled end-of-life tires by 17 tons at the end of the first year.Construction waste
Preventing the landfill of about 100 tons of construction waste per year.In order to achieve the objectives of the project, there are different planned activities divided into 4 main categories
Type of Activities
Management activities
Includes team building activities, preparation and awarding of public procurement and project audit.
Waste utilization
Includes development of good practice analysis and model generation and trends.
Equipment and logistics
Activities related to supplies of equipment and introduction of schemes for separate collection and recycling of waste.
Communication activities
Carrying out campaigns to popularize the scheme for separate collection and utilization of different types of waste.
